Middle School Student Turns Tables On Sex Offender

MILFORD (WWJ) A quick-thinking middle school student in Milford used technology to turn the tables on a registered sex offender.

“There were three teens, ages 12 to 13, who were uncomfortable being flirted with by a white male,” explained Milford Police Chief Thomas Lindberg.

The girls were in a Starbucks cafe when the stranger said something police described as “sexually suggestive.” One of the kids sent a text message to their grandfather outlining the situation and the grandfather called police.

The suspect was later identified to be convicted sex offender Jordan Walters, 31, of Milford. He was on probation on a conviction for accosting a child for immoral purposes.

Walters was quickly arrested and remains in the Oakland County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond. He’s charged with attempting to solicit a minor, a two-year felony.

Lindberg said there’s a lesson in here for other kids.
