(STMW) — A Portage Park man pleaded guilty Tuesday to the fatal stabbing of his mother outside her Northwest Side bar in 2011, and remains a suspect in his father’s murder, though he was never charged.
Cezar Henry Waskowski pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for killing his mother and Judge Evelyn Clay sentenced him to 28 years in prison, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokesman Stephen Campbell said. By law he must serve 100 percent of the sentence.
Waskowski, 32, of the 3700 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, stabbed his mother outside her tavern about 2 a.m. on June 6, 2011, authorities said. Henryka Waskowski was stabbed outside her bar, Henryka’s, in the 5700 block of West Irving Park Road.
Police said Henryka Waskowksi was chased down the street and stabbed, and a 34-year-old man who worked at the bar tried to intervene and was also stabbed.
