Man Killed After Losing Control of Motorcycle

ROME TWP., Ohio — A Mentor man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and being hit by another driver Sunday morning.

It happened at about 10:50 a.m. on state Route 45 in Rome Township.

According to the Ashtabula Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Gerald Stark, 70, was riding a 1992 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on state Route 45, approaching the intersection of Dodgeville Road.

Another vehicle was also driving south on state Route 45 and was stopped and waiting for oncoming traffic so it could turn left onto Dodgeville Road, said police.

The motorcycle lost control, slid left of center and was hit by a northbound vehicle.

Stark was pronounced dead at the scene, said police.

The investigation is ongoing.
