WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A 3-year-old girl went into full cardiac arrest Thursday afternoon after falling from a slide.
It happened around 3:10 p.m. at 3049 South and 4215 West in West Valley City.
West Valley City Fire Marshal Bob Fitzgerald says the girl was playing in her back yard with her family dog when she fell off the slide, which is about four or five feet tall. It’s unknown what led to the fall or how the girl fell, though the dog may have pushed the girl off the slide.
“Initial information I have is that she fell off a slide and at some point lost consciousness fairly quickly after falling off,” Fitzgerald said. “Whether there was horseplay with the dog that caused her to lose her balance, we don’t know.”
