MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade Police called out the bomb squad to a police-involved shooting Saturday afternoon in Opa-Locka.
The incident started on a Miami-Dade County transit bus when a passenger called police about a man with a firearm. When the bus stopped near the intersection of NW 27th Avenue and 114th Street, near the North campus of Miami-Dade College, the person who allegedly had the firearm got off.
Police said the armed individual confronted their officers and shots were fired.

Witnesses said the incident happened quickly.
“I saw all the cop cars coming and I heard a gunshot and then I went and saw the body,” said witness Paul Neill.
As police approached the fatally injured person they saw what looked like a grenade and called the bomb squad, which came to the scene and checked out the bus.
